Damaris Munoz

Hello! My name is Damaris Muñoz, and I am a senior at Hunter College pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology. I have always been drawn to understanding people, their experiences, and the different factors that shape their emotional well-being. While I am interested in working with individuals of all ages, I have a particular passion for supporting children, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate the different stages and challenges of growing up.

My experience working with children and adolescents in different settings has strengthened my interest in mental health and has allowed me to develop meaningful skills in communication, patience, empathy, and active listening. I am especially interested in learning more about anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, child development, and crisis intervention, as well as how our individual experiences and environments influence the way we think, feel, and connect with others.

After completing my undergraduate degree, I hope to pursue a PsyD in Clinical Psychology and continue developing the skills and knowledge needed to support others through meaningful, compassionate mental health care. Through this internship, I am excited to gain experience, learn from professionals in the field, and continue discovering the areas of clinical psychology I am most passionate about.

Outside of psychology, I love spending time with my family and friends, listening to music, traveling, cooking, and expressing myself through arts, crafts, and other creative projects. I also genuinely enjoy listening to and connecting with others and creating spaces where people feel comfortable being themselves.
