Nicoletta Lecrichia

My name is Nicoletta Lecrichia, I am a student at Hunter College, I study psychology and
I am currently a senior. I am from New York City however I’ve had amazing opportunities to
travel and studied abroad in Paris, France and The Fiji Islands. I have also spent time traveling
around the world and to parts of Africa to teach both children and adults English. I often
participate in community centered roles, for example, I spent years learning about restorative
justice and eventually became a chairwoman where I facilitated mediations in public schools
which granted NYC youth an opportunity to have a voice in their futures and education. I spent
years of my life learning karate and competitively playing chess in professional tournaments
across the country. I continue to play chess and teach it and I also participate and empower
Hunter’s chess club. I plan to continue to travel the world while making a positive impact on the
people and environments I encounter. I also intend to earn a master's degree, and a PhD. I aspire
to eventually build my own private practice for talk therapy and prescribe pharmaceuticals as
well as holistic medicine which is not as accessible in many locations, especially big cities such
as NYC.
